It’s been over two decades since the release of the original Pokemon games, Red and Blue. In that time, the series has seen a number of changes and additions, the most recent of which is the release of it. This new game is a remastering of the original Gameboy Color game, Crystal. While it features updated graphics and sound, as well as some new features, the heart of the game remains unchanged.
It aims to improve the game’s graphics and make it more faithful to the anime. The mod was created by Kaezi, and it is currently in beta. Some of the features of the mod include new sprites for all of the pokemon, updated battle animations, and a new title screen.

Update Instructions
- On your old version, SAVE inside the Olivine PokeCenter, then close the game.
- Replace your old .gbc file with the new 2.2.0 .gbc file (Note: If you downloaded the ROM from here, you’ll have an equivalent .zip file instead)
- Don’t forget to make sure your .gbc and .sav file are named the same thing!
- After entering the overworld, walk down and exit the Olivine PokeCenter.
- Once you’re outside, press A on the “POKE” sign on the building.
- If your save needs updating, you’ll be warped inside the building.
- If you hear a “Ding” sound, everything’s good.
- You’re done!
